All you need to know about wedding flowers for Spring 2018
With Spring just around the corner, the girls from Melbourne's Babylon Flowers give us their wedding flower trend predictions for the season ahead.
-
1. Blush!
Blush continues to be the favourite with our brides & grooms for this coming wedding season. We are pairing blush blooms with rich tones of burgundy and plum; blush with latte, sand and burnt orange tones; or the modern classic, blush and ivory. Blush can be taken in so many colourways; the possibilities are endless!
2. Open blooms in all their glory
This season you’ll see fully blown roses, fluffy peonies, and delicate dahlias in full bloom. We are creating arrangements that show off each flower at its full potential, giving space to appreciate the form, colour and beauty of each bloom.
3. It’s all about the floral
This season we are seeing designs with strong emphasis on the floral element, with minimal or no foliage. Spring is the perfect season to celebrate with an abundance of flowers. Let the flowers be the hero which incredible blooms such as poppies, orchids, anthuriums, king proteas, peonies or roses.
4. Ceremony floral installations
We are designing some beautiful installations for wedding ceremonies. Couples are wanting something a bit different for their ceremony that they haven’t seen before. Circular ceremonies marked out with flowers coming up from the floor are perfect for smaller intimate affairs. Similarly, floor florals that arch up to create a floating asymmetrical backdrop are a favourite for this season.
5. For the boys
This spring our grooms are breaking the tradition of the single rose and requesting exciting buttonholes full of colour and texture. Buds, berries, pods and foliage can be put together beautifully to create something unique and memorable.
