A captivating display of gowns suffused with delicate lacework and intricate beading... From the deliberate bohemian to the modern minimalist, designers rendered gowns with flouncy sleeves, asymmetric lines and the layering of seemingly unlike elements. Fashion week continues to push the boundaries of what we feel aesthetically comfortable with, particularly when reevaluated through the lens of bridal.
Proenza Schouler’s sculpturally refined silhouettes, vertical splits and artfully placed ruffles, inspired an entirely new rendition of the chic modern bride. With a play on textural laces, leathers and unexpected necklines, these designs lend themselves to the most fashionable of brides. While Maticevski’s soufflé tulle gowns and signature abstract construction reinvigorated our desire to have a somewhat tempered ‘princess’ moment.
Zuhair Murad and Elie Saab reaffirmed the craftsmanship and artistry couturiers are known for, in an ornately embellished spectrum of silk to organza. Shows unfolded in a flurry of floor-sweeping gowns, artfully injected with Edwardian grandiose, think gowns in powdery pastel tones to tumbling florals and whimsical laces. Paris Fashion Week unveiled the most lust worthy of gowns.
Below we’ve curated our favourite looks, that we cant wait to see brides wearing.
