What unique features or amenities does your venue offer that set it apart from others in the area, and how do these enhance the wedding experience for couples?
At Cumulus Inc., we offer two unique dining spaces that offer a wide variety of atmospheres. Our Upstairs Dining Room is striking - exposed brick walls, feature pendant lights and ceiling-high windows make for a memorable space. We are also lucky to be able to hold celebrations in the iconic Arc One Gallery that sits behind our restaurant. The space allows our guests to dine amongst some of Melbourne's best exhibitions - not many people can say they have dined amongst artwork on their wedding day.
Can you describe the different spaces available for weddings within your venue, and how do you accommodate varying wedding sizes and styles?
Our Upstairs space is flexible - we can host parties for up to 50 guests seated or 70 standing. The Gallery can host 70 guests seated across two long tables or 100 guests for a canapé event. We’re able to customise each space as per the celebrating couple’s wishes - with a broad scope for romantic candlelight and eye-catching florals.
How do you work with couples to customise their wedding experience?
Our team comes with years of experience and it means our guests have no need to invest in a wedding coordinator. We aim to take the stress out of wedding planning and help in any way we can. The Cumulus Inc. team is highly organised, has a passion for planning and are always ready with the right recommendation. Our menus are adaptable and can be made bespoke, depending on our guests’ tastes and preferences. On call is our talented beverage team who will consult directly with you - offering some wonderful wine options, including magnums of Champagne and a range of cocktails on arrival. The list is endless.
What support and guidance do you provide to couples throughout the planning process and on the day of the wedding to ensure a smooth and memorable event?
We touch base with guests at least three months before their celebration with a list of bespoke questions to ensure we have all requests covered. We make contact directly with suppliers on our guests’ behalf. This includes DJs, photographers and bands to ensure that the practicalities of organising are in our hands, so that the happy couple can focus on enjoying the day.
From your perspective, what are some of the most memorable and unique weddings that have taken place at your venue, and what made them stand out? How do you assist couples in bringing their own personal touches and visions to life?
With many memorable celebrations at Cumulus Inc., we trust we know what works and what doesn’t. Ultimately, ensuring a wedding feels personalised is our utmost priority. This is created with kind and efficient service, a warm ambience and the seamless coordination of the delicious and abundant food we’re known for. Some of the most memorable weddings have started in Arc One Gallery for the ceremony, followed by a cocktail reception upstairs with a live jazz trio, with roaming cocktails and magnums of Champagne to start, an oyster station and canapés rolling throughout the evening. There’s nothing wrong with a late-night toastie to finish, as well!
