One Day Bridal: A Look Into The Season Ahead
"We have been incredibly busy here at One Day designing our S/S2018 range which is going to be bigger and better than ever before."

We sat down with Steph of One Day Bridal and asked her to give us a little insight into what’s happening at One Day Bridal for the season ahead.
What's currently happening at One Day Bridal?
So much is happening, it is an endless cycle but we wouldn’t have it any other way. In the next couple of months, we are releasing two new collections by CHOSEN. The first is our EMPIRE collection, which we have just shot, and is currently available in store at ONE DAY, and later in September, we will be releasing the CHOSEN S/S18 collection.
Also in August is my wedding, which has been a big focus here, I’ll go into more detail a little later on!
We are really in the midst of our production timelines getting ready for a busy start to bridal season.
We’ve seen so many bridal trends come and go. What can brides-to-be say goodbye to for the season ahead?
The armbands. This is a big one for us and we totally get why brides want to wear these, but they are a nightmare. We advise against, it restricts hugging and dancing. If you want to cover your arms we suggest trying a sleeve or an off the shoulder style.
I don’t think we can call it a trend, but recently we have seen a move away from the traditional white lace gown. Our brides really want to take more risks and wear something that is a bit edgier. Instead of your traditional floral French lace, the ladies are really loving geometric style laces or beading.
What are some of the most common trends at the moment?
Recently we have been seeing, and our brides love that simple, elegant clean line look. Our latest Empire Collection by CHOSEN is the best representation of this trend. Think minimal, structured and edgy.
We are big believers that less is more and this look enables you to dress up your look with great accessories and shoes.
We have definitely seen a big shift in ladies pairing their wedding gown with a great pair of shoes, and moving away from the white or nude options and going for something they love and know they will get plenty of wear out of. I have purchased a pair of black Gucci mules for my wedding and I am so in love. I have been itching to wear them!
On the other hand, we have seen a big move away from the traditional white lace wedding gown and brides are looking to wear more colour with metallic tones.
What are you focusing on at One Day Bridal for the next season?
We have been incredibly busy here at One Day designing our S/S2018 range which is going to be bigger and better than ever before. In true ONE DAY style we have really stepped things up a notch this year and each design is opulent, intricate and completely breathtaking.
Now that we have our ready To Wear brand CHOSEN, we have been able to focus on designing a ONE DAY range that completely encapsulates the ONE DAY bride and her unique style.
The focus this year has been designing our own fabrics, which has been a really exciting process. The way Kyha designs gowns stems from the fabric, so being able to strip this process right back and begin with creating fabrics has been really beneficial for the overall vision of our S/S2018 collection.
Our next collection is actually based off the gown we are creating for my own wedding in August. Having been a part of this process in developing the fabric and overseeing the design process of not just my gown, but also the whole collection has been really exciting. This collection is definitely unlike anything we have created before. That’s all I can say, I can’t wait to reveal my incredible wedding dress and the rest of the ONE DAY S/S 2018 collection.
