“…I listen to them. I try to understand what they have envisioned for their wedding day, and we discuss how I can contribute to that.”

How did your journey into wedding photography begin, and what inspired you to focus on this field?

As a wedding photographer, I started focusing more specifically on this field in 2017. What always draws me in are the real and pure emotions on the wedding day, and this was the main reason I began pursuing it.

Your photography has a beautiful balance of candid moments and artistic composition. How do you approach a wedding to capture both of these elements?

I believe these feelings come out quite naturally on the wedding day. In general, I’m not pushy with the couples, and I feel very free inside to do what I love. In every wedding, you’ll find the angle you want and the truly spontaneous moment. The readiness you need to capture those moments is the most important thing.

Greece offers some breathtaking landscapes. How do you incorporate the natural beauty of your surroundings into your wedding photography?

Greece, like every country, has its own elements of beauty. What I try to do is create a combination of the couple and the landscape. Sometimes it's difficult not to get carried away by the stunning scenery, and other times by the couple. I usually do a photo shoot the day before the wedding in every island or city I visit, so I can gather images and find the right spots for the wedding day. This way, I’ve already seen the landscapes and I don’t get overly excited as if I’m seeing them for the first time!

What do you believe makes a wedding photograph timeless and able to evoke emotion for years to come?

Simplicity. The simplicity of things as you see them, exactly as they are in that moment. Sure, with editing, any photographer can step in and fix imperfections in a photo. But, just like in film, the simplest approach is often the most challenging. The more simply you capture a genuine emotion, the more powerful it will feel to the person who looks at the photo years later!

Can you share a memorable moment from a wedding you’ve photographed that left a lasting impact on you?

There are many moments that have stayed with me, and I often bring them to mind and reflect on them. However, the moments involving the parents of the couples always resonate with me on a deeper level. Perhaps it's because I love my own parents very much and always think of them.

How do you work with couples to ensure their personalities and unique love story are reflected in the images you capture?

I listen to them. I try to understand what they have envisioned for their wedding day, and we discuss how I can contribute to that. As I mentioned before, I don’t pressure them on the wedding day. The only advice I insist on giving is to be themselves. You see, in true personal moments with our loved ones, no one is photographing us. So when I capture these moments and they see themselves smiling and connecting with each other, those images become truly unique.

What advice would you give to couples when choosing a wedding photographer to ensure they have the best experience and results?

I believe that a couple should choose a photographer based on the emotions their photos evoke. Many people choose photographers who may have worked with celebrities or those who fit their budget. However, since it's about personal relationships with professionals, the choice should primarily be made based on whether what you see resonates with you deep inside.

And finally, what is your number one piece of wedding planning advice?

Do what you love, in the way that you love, and choose those who will share in the love of the most important beginning of your life.
