Love Sophie Floral: Shaped by Love, Effort and Attention to Detail

Warm, thoughtful and led by genuine care, Love Sophie Floral brings a heartfelt approach to wedding floristry. From growing her own flowers to showing up in the early hours to make each day feel special, every arrangement is shaped by love, effort and attention to detail.

THEODORE Mag: What first drew you into the world of wedding flowers?

LSF: Funnily enough, it was when my hairdresser got engaged (very bizarre beginning, I know). She was doing my hair and asked if I would consider doing flowers for her party. With some cash in hand, I very excitedly rushed down to my first-ever flower seller and bought my very first blooms. That first event landed me my first three weddings, and I was hooked. You could say the rest is history, really, I have been following the same feeling of delivering people special flowers with the rush of emotion I see in their faces as they receive their bridal bouquet or the giant smile they have as they look around their reception space filled with blooms.

THEODORE Mag: How would you describe your floral style in three words?

LSF: Soulful, Curated and Colour-drenched.

THEODORE Mag: What’s your favourite part of working with couples on their wedding day?

LSF: Hands down, the best part of working with my couples is learning how they met. I love the meet-cutes that I get to hear about, and what I love even more is tying in aspects of the florals with people's memories together.

THEODORE Mag: You’re known for your incredible use of colour. What colours are you loving right now?

LSF: I am super into bringing pinks and mauves together in a wedding right now, and I am definitely manifesting more weddings like this for this year!

THEODORE Mag: Is there a wedding you’ve worked on that you’ll never forget? Why?

LSF: Only every wedding ever! Each wedding has this stunning standout moment or aspect that I tuck away into the little memory bank. One of my favourites was this wedding at the Ripponlea Estate, where the couple organised KFC for everyone (the guests loved it), and another is when a bride shouted me out in her speech at the reception. Weddings have so many meaningful, funny and even stressful moments, and I am so grateful I get to be a part of so many.

THEODORE Mag: What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you or your work?

LSF: I don’t have many surprises up my sleeve; what you see is what you get. However, I do think it surprises a lot of people how happy I am to be getting up at 2 or 3am to go and curate their wedding flowers.

THEODORE Mag: How does growing your own flowers influence your designs?

LSF: It has given me so much respect for the work that goes into every stem my lovely growers grow. Seeing flowers in their natural(ish) environment has also majorly impacted how I view designs. I’m constantly inspired by the way they grow, especially by their imperfections and by how the colours of each bloom interact.

THEODORE Mag:  What do you hope couples feel when they see their flowers on the day?

LSF: I hope they feel the love and care that went into them, and the perfect amount of excitement and overwhelm from the beauty of the flowers.
