In Conversation With Laura from Rose Weddings Bali
Planning weddings in one of the world’s most enchanting destinations, Rose Weddings and Events Bali brings heart, care and calm precision to every celebration. Inspired by the beauty and energy of the island, her work is all about creating weddings that feel personal and full of meaning. With a deep love for connection and detail, Laura turns each couple’s story into an unforgettable Bali experience.
What inspired you to start Rose Events Bali, and how has the journey of wedding planning in such a unique location evolved over the years?
Rose Events Bali was born from a deep love for creating meaningful, beautiful moments and a personal connection to the magic of Bali. I was inspired by the island’s natural beauty, spiritual energy, and the way it brings people together. Over the years, the journey has evolved with trends, technology, and the growing expectations of international couples, but at its heart, it’s always been about connection, creativity, and unforgettable experiences.
How would you describe your signature approach to planning weddings in Bali, and what makes your service stand out from others in the industry?
My approach is highly personal, detail-driven, and deeply rooted in emotional connection. I take the time to truly understand each couple: their story, their values, their vision and translate that into a celebration that feels like “them.” What sets Rose Events apart is the balance of calm professionalism and heartfelt care, paired with a curated network of top-tier vendors and a deep knowledge of Bali’s unique wedding landscape.
Could you share a wedding that was particularly special to you and how Bali’s setting enhanced the celebration?
One that stands out was a sunset cliffside wedding where the couple exchanged vows under a sky turning gold and pink. The moment felt completely suspended in time. The setting, the sound of waves, the scent of frangipanis in the air, the warmth of the people brought this ethereal, almost cinematic energy to their day. Bali has this way of elevating emotions and making every detail feel more vivid.
When planning weddings in Bali, what are the most important elements you focus on to ensure a flawless and memorable day?
Logistics are everything! Especially in a destination like Bali where traffic, weather, and timing can shift in a heartbeat. I focus on clear timelines, strong vendor coordination, and having contingency plans in place. But equally important is the energy, making sure the couple feels present, supported, and completely free to enjoy their day.
How do you incorporate Bali’s local culture and natural beauty into the weddings you plan for international couples?
I love weaving in subtle, meaningful touches, like traditional Balinese flower offerings, local music, or ceremonial elements that reflect the island’s spiritual roots. I also work with the natural landscape rather than against it, choosing venues and styling that highlight Bali’s textures, colors, and atmosphere.
What wedding trends are you currently loving, and how do you incorporate these trends while still keeping each event timeless and personalised?
I’m loving the shift toward intimate, experience-focused weddings, where it’s more about meaningful moments than grandeur. Think long dining tables under fairy lights, personalised vows, and interactive elements like live music or fire dancers. I always aim to strike a balance: embrace the trend, but anchor it in something personal to the couple so it doesn’t feel fleeting or generic.
Bali is known for its dreamy yet unpredictable weather. How do you ensure that even in challenging conditions, the day runs smoothly?
Planning ahead is key. I always have a solid Plan B: from tenting options to layout adjustments and supplier readiness. But just as important is managing expectations with calm, honest communication. Bali’s weather can be wild, but with the right prep and mindset, the magic still shines through rain or shine.
What advice would you give to couples who are considering a destination wedding in Bali but are unsure of where to begin?
Start by dreaming; what kind of feeling do you want your wedding to have? Once you have that vision, the rest will follow. My biggest advice is to work with a planner who knows the island inside and out and who you truly connect with. A good planner will guide you through the process, handle the details, and create a celebration that reflects you all while letting you enjoy the journey.
