Matt and Jonathan: A Love That’s Effortlessly Chic

Matt and Jonathan’s love story began like so many modern romances—with a DM that changed everything. What followed was a journey built on deep conversations, shared dreams, and the serendipity of knowing they had found “the one”. By the time they met for their first date at Cara Hotel, it already felt like they’d known each other for a lifetime.

Tell us a little about that first time you met…

Matt and Jonathan:  We had a lot of time before our first date because we were both travelling so we had a lot of time for conversations and FaceTime. By the time we finally met it was like we’d always known each other for months. We had dinner at Cara Hotel and the rest was history…

What was the first thing you noticed about each other?

Matt and Jonathan:  I think the first thing we both noticed in each other was that we both wanted a serious monogamous relationship and a future with kids.

Tell us about the standout moments in your relationship…

Matt and Jonathan: Some standout moments were buying a townhouse together, selling that after two years and buying our dream home. We’ve also taken some pretty incredible trips together.

Matt and Jonathan: We searched a lot of weddings on Instagram for our ideas but our wedding planner Alison was amazing at creating the vision we wanted.

Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?

Matt and Jonathan: Our advice would be to find a beautiful venue that doesn’t require a lot of fluff. We got to spend less on flowers and decor because of the simple beauty of the space and helped keep us closer to the budget we set. Also, don’t be afraid to question things from vendors and ask them to work with you.
