Adam and Eddie: Mr Perfect

In a room full of people, Adam spotted his 'Mr Perfect' the very moment he first laid eyes on Eddie; he was so captivated by him that he even turned to his friends saying "that guy is absolutely perfect." However, that night wasn't the night they were meant to meet. Years later, their paths crossed again, and this chance meeting was the time they would connect; Adam, recognising his 'Mr Perfect' from years earlier. Then one evening, not long after this chance meeting, Eddie turned to Adam and said "I love you", to which Adam responded, "I love you too."

Tell us a little about the early days of your relationship.

Adam: The early days in our relationship were wonderful. When we first officially met, we hit it off and became best friends. We were young, carefree and enjoyed everything life had to offer us. Then one evening, Eddie turned to me and said "I love you", to which I responded, "I love you too".

Tell us about the proposal?

Adam: Eddie proposed to me during a family holiday on a cruise ship. Having planned every aspect, he managed to sneak me away to the front of the ship, where he was waiting on one knee.

What does marriage mean to you?

Marriage to us is a celebration of a commitment to love, care and, support each other for the rest of our lives. It's a beautiful celebration of the feeling that with every inch of your being, you never want to be apart from each other.

When was your wedding?

Saturday, 30th March 2019.

What was the main influence behind your wedding day?

We wanted our wedding to be timeless, to have a mix of contemporary style, but set in a traditional environment.

Where did you find the bulk of your inspiration?

For almost everything we chose, we knew what we were looking for. Our amazing stylists and event coordinators helped focus our ideas and manifest them into reality.

How did you choose your suppliers?

Our florist (flower jar) had supplied the floral arrangement for our engagement party and blew us away. There was no hesitation that we had them do the flowers for our wedding day.

Our entertainment was organised by our friend Nikki Pratt who is the general manager at Rutherford Entertainment. Nikki helped us coordinate a beautiful harpist, The Perolas, a soul band, Belle & Co, and then to see the night out, DJ Nikki Pratt hit the decks herself and created the most incredible end to our evening.

Dave Le Page shot our engagement and amazed us! Dave is an absolute artist, professional and all-round top guy. Dave partnered with Lenise Ormsby, who shot our whole wedding day and captured every moment of emotion perfectly.

Chris Johnson, our Celebrant, was absolutely beautiful. We found Chris via his website and first met for a coffee. Within minutes we knew that Chris was the perfect fit. He officiated our wedding so well that the majority of our guests thought he was a close family friend.

Did you include any traditional elements?

It was actually exciting being a same-sex wedding, as there are no rules or traditions. We spent the night apart before the wedding with our families, and the first time we saw each other was when we were walking down the aisle. Our Mothers walked us down the aisle, and our Fathers were our witnesses.

What was the most challenging thing about planning your wedding?

The table arrangements and the seating chart!!! We must have moved people around right up until a few days before! However, it worked out perfect. The atmosphere was electric with laughter all night!

Where did you spend your honeymoon?

We spent two nights at Crown Towers after the wedding, and then we went straight into the grand opening of our new dental clinic (Victorian Dental Group, visit Mr Theodore and find the boys listed under Health & Beauty on the Mr Theodore Directory).

Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?

Take a deep breath, remember why you are getting married, and know that it will all be fine! Consider working with a wedding coordinator who can arrange all of your suppliers and the big day itself. This took so much stress off our shoulders. For example, an hour before we had a location change due to the weather which our coordinator took care of for us.
