“Over time, my journey as a photographer has evolved from simply documenting events to truly telling a story—each couple’s unique love story... ”

What led you to start Happy Vibes Creation, and how has your journey as a wedding photographer evolved over time?

I started Happy Vibes Creation because I’ve always been drawn to capturing real, raw emotions. Weddings are such a beautiful celebration of love, and I knew I wanted to be part of that joy. Over time, my journey as a photographer has evolved from simply documenting events to truly telling a story—each couple's unique love story. I’ve refined my approach, focusing on creating authentic, artistic visuals that reflect the essence of each couple I work with. Every wedding teaches me something new, and that growth is what makes this journey so exciting.

How would you describe your photography style, and how do you ensure it captures the essence of each couple’s day?

My style is a mix of documentary and artistic, with a focus on candid moments and creative compositions. I aim to capture the day as it naturally unfolds, but with an artistic touch that makes the images feel timeless and unique. To ensure I capture the essence of each couple, I spend time getting to know them beforehand. This helps me understand their personalities, their dynamics, and what makes their relationship special, so I can reflect that in the photos.

Could you share a particular wedding shoot that was especially memorable for you and why it stood out?

One of the most memorable weddings for me was actually the very first one I photographed. It was a small, intimate ceremony, and I remember feeling so honoured that this couple trusted me to capture such an important day. The joy and excitement of the day were infectious, and I put my heart into capturing every moment. What made it even more special was the couple's reaction when they saw their photos—they absolutely loved them, and hearing how much the images meant to them made the experience unforgettable. Knowing I could create something so meaningful for them solidified my love for wedding photography and set the tone for my journey ever since.

What are the most important moments you focus on during a wedding day, and how do you make sure nothing is missed?

The most important moments for me are the in-between, often unnoticed ones—the glance between a couple right before they walk down the aisle, the laugh during the speeches, or the quiet moment when they’re taking it all in. Of course, I also capture the big moments like the vows, the kiss, and the first dance, but it’s those little, intimate moments that truly tell the story. To make sure nothing is missed, I stay attuned to the energy of the day and position myself where I can anticipate those special moments unfolding.

How do you work with couples to ensure their personalities and love story shine through in the photos you capture?

Before the wedding, I spend time chatting with my couples—whether it’s over coffee or through a video call—to really get a sense of who they are and what’s important to them. On the day, I create a relaxed environment where they can feel comfortable being themselves. I often give subtle prompts rather than strict poses, which helps couples interact naturally. This approach allows me to capture genuine moments that truly reflect their personalities and love story.

What trends in wedding photography are you currently loving, and how do you incorporate them into your work?

I’m loving the trend of documentary-style storytelling paired with creative, moody editing. There’s something timeless about capturing weddings in a way that feels more like a cinematic experience rather than a series of posed shots. I’ve been incorporating this by focusing on natural lighting and candid moments, with a slight emphasis on mood and atmosphere in the editing process. It creates a more authentic, emotional feel to the photos, which I believe really resonates with couples.

Weddings can be a whirlwind of emotions and events. How do you create a calm and comfortable atmosphere for couples during the shoot?

I think the key is to approach the day with a calm energy myself. I keep things light and fun, offering gentle guidance when needed but never overwhelming couples with too much direction. I remind them that this day is about their love, and everything else fades into the background. I also build a good rapport before the wedding, so by the time we’re shooting, they already feel comfortable with me, like I’m a friend who’s there to capture their day.

What advice would you give to couples when choosing a wedding photographer, especially if they’re unsure where to begin?

My biggest advice is to choose a photographer whose style and personality resonate with you. Look at portfolios, not just for pretty pictures, but for photos that make you feel something. Your wedding photographer will be with you for one of the most intimate and emotional days of your life, so you want someone who you feel comfortable with and whose vision aligns with how you want to remember your day.
