“…I’m excited about the trend of embracing individuality—couples are less bound by tradition and more focused on authenticity, which gives me the freedom to capture truly unique moments that represent who they are.”

Your photography captures such intimate moments between couples. How do you build that trust with your clients to create those beautifully candid shots?

Trust is the foundation of every intimate shot. I focus on understanding each couple’s unique dynamic by meeting with them beforehand to discuss their story, vision, and comfort level in front of the camera.

This connection allows me to create an environment where they feel free to be themselves, allowing those natural, candid moments to unfold. It’s less about directing and more about letting them enjoy the experience while I capture the genuine moments that naturally arise.

Every wedding has its unique story. Can you share a moment from a recent wedding that deeply moved you as both an artist and an observer?

One moment that stands out was at a recent wedding where the groom surprised his bride with a handwritten letter he read during their first look.

Witnessing such an intimate and personal gesture moved everyone there, and capturing her reaction—overwhelmed with love—was unforgettable.

As an artist, these are the moments that remind me why I do what I do; they bring raw emotions to life, which is incredibly inspiring.

You have a distinct style that’s easily recognisable. How did you develop your photographic voice, and how do you continue to evolve it with each wedding you shoot?

My style developed naturally over time, as I honed my vision for what feels true to me: capturing elegance through a modern, editorial lens while embracing the authenticity of each couple’s love story.

Each wedding teaches me something new, whether it’s a unique lighting situation or a couple’s particular energy.

I strive to infuse these lessons into my work, making each shoot a chance to grow and refine my voice.

Wedding days can be emotionally charged. How do you navigate the unpredictable energy while still capturing the elegance and beauty of the day?

Weddings are filled with an array of emotions—from excitement to nerves to pure joy. I’ve learned to stay grounded and adaptable.

I make a point to keep the atmosphere calm, ensuring I can capture those fleeting, beautiful moments amid the busyness. It’s about tuning into the energy of the day, knowing when to step back, and when to step in to get the shot.

Is there a particular wedding or couple that’s left a lasting impression on you? What made their story or day so unforgettable?

One wedding that really stayed with me was for a couple who chose to celebrate their day in a quiet, private ceremony with only a few close friends and family.

The simplicity and intimacy of the day allowed everyone to be fully present, and there was a palpable sense of connection in the room.

The bride and groom exchanged handwritten vows that spoke to years of shared history and support.

Capturing their emotions felt like an honour and a reminder of the beauty in keeping things deeply personal.

That experience underscored how meaningful even the smallest weddings can be when they’re filled with true emotion.

We’d love to know more about the person behind the lens. What inspires you outside of wedding photography, and how do you bring that inspiration into your work?

Outside of wedding photography, I’m inspired by architecture, fashion, and the way natural light interacts with different environments.

I often look to these areas for ideas on composition and form, bringing in the textures and aesthetics that create that clean, elegant look in my work.

This blend of influences adds depth to each frame, making it feel both timeless and contemporary.

The wedding industry has undergone so many changes in recent years. How has this shift impacted your approach to capturing weddings, and what trends are you most excited about?

The shift towards more intimate, personal weddings has been a beautiful change.

It allows for more meaningful connections and a greater focus on what truly matters to each couple.

I’m excited about the trend of embracing individuality—couples are less bound by tradition and more focused on authenticity, which gives me the freedom to capture truly unique moments that represent who they are.

Finally, what’s one piece of advice you would give to couples looking for a photographer to truly capture their essence on their big day?

Find someone whose style resonates with you on a deep level, but also someone you feel comfortable with.

Trust and rapport with your photographer are essential because it enables you to relax and be fully present.

The best images come when you’re genuinely at ease, allowing your true selves to shine through in every shot.
