Working as both a fashion photographer as well as a wedding photography, Myles certainly knows his way around the camera, and around a wedding as well.

If you're searching for photography with meaning, and love images that make you look incredible, then Myles is your guy.

We spoke with Myles recently to give you more of an insight into him as a photographer, as well as what you can expect from having Myles photograph your wedding day.

What inspired you to start photographing weddings? I've worked in fashion for several years, which I love, however, something was missing. I love that wedding pictures mean so much to my couples and their families. Couples will literally cry when they see the photos. I'm pretty sure no one has ever cried over my fashion pictures!

In your own words, how do you describe your approach? I start with authentic communication with the couple from the first meeting. With a healthy dash of charm and humour. I like to feel out what my couples are looking for and gently guide them in terms of timing decisions on the day so the pictures will have the best light possible. I'm a natural light shooter except for the reception where I'll use flash.

My work is very much informed by my fashion work, paying careful attention to light, colour, mood, posing, composition etc.

My style is very natural, if the moment is emotional, I'll capture that emotion, if it's joyful I'm all over that too. I love big joyful moments and get right in the middle of it and soak it all in with my camera. It's really about developing a relationship of trust with the client.

There's a famous American photographer called Weegee The Famous (yes that's really his name!) who said - "When you find yourself beginning to feel a bond between yourself and the people you photograph when you laugh and cry with their laughter and tears, you will know you are on the right track”. That's the philosophy I work by. I'm a photographer because I love people.

What can couples expect from having you as their wedding photographer? Incredible pictures! Every single wedding I've photographed, bar none, my clients have loved the pictures. I've always exceeded their expectations. It breaks my heart when I know of people who were disappointed with their wedding photographer.

It's not easy for people not trained in photography to recognise what makes a strong picture or how to spot talent, so they often go with the photographer they like personally. Though that is, of course, important and I'd like to think I'm pretty likeable, at the end of the day it's about the pictures. My pictures are fresh and bursting with life.

How long have you specifically been photographing weddings for? About 4 years, though I've been a professional photographer for over 10 years. I've had formal training (University of Technology Sydney), experience assisting other photographers and 10 years on the job experience.

What is your favourite part of the wedding day to capture? That's easy, the couple portraits. It's such a special time for the couple. It's their first time alone as a married couple (besides me) and a lovely break from the hectic pace of the day. I like to give them gentle direction and just let them be and soak up those just married feels. I've already picked the best location for lighting and background. All I have to do is place my couple in the beautiful light and sit back and capture the magic.
