2021 is in full swing, and with a brand new year comes new suiting styles to keep an eye out for. Melbourne based tailor Carl Navè gives us a little run-down of what you can expect to see when it comes to wedding suiting in 2021.

THE WHITE SUIT

Whether it's a white dinner jacket or a full suit in white, off-white, ivory, or cream, this summer there is no other look that offers elegance and freshness to a groom's attire.

Silhouettes vary greatly from slim and narrow to broader and relaxed. Pleated trousers and wider legs are also re-emerging.

LINEN & TEXTURE

Summer weddings tend to have a slightly more relaxed nature to them. For this reason, linen and linen blended fabrics make the ideal cloth for your wedding suit or jacket. Linen offers comfort, breathability, and a relaxed yet luxurious element to your wedding.

I particularly love the texture of a linen look.  An open weave linen look has a beautiful drape with a gentle crush, but if you prefer a wrinkle-free option, wool and linen blends are a beautiful option.

THE WAISTCOAT

Formality is always on-trend, regardless of the season. This summer if you’re wearing Black Tie or Formal attire make sure you incorporate a waistcoat and make it a statement with either contrast fabric or a lovely scoop detail.

If you get a hot summer’s day the waistcoat will be the one detail that pulls your outfit together and ensures that you remain looking like the best-dressed man in the room once you remove your jacket.
