Hannah and Jessica: An Intimate Atlanta Wedding

Hannah and Jessica’s love story began on the dance floor at an Atlanta Pride event and has been unfolding ever since. Their wedding, set across a classic Italian restaurant and a historic church chapel, reflected their desire for timeless elegance without the pressure. At its heart, their celebration was about choosing each other, staying present, and ensuring everyone had a genuinely good time.

“To us, marriage means always being a team and choosing each other forever. It means growing and changing together and showing up during good and bad times.”

THEODORE Mag: How and when did you meet?

Hannah and Jessica: We met at a bar in October of 2019.

THEODORE Mag: Tell us a little about that first time you met…

Hannah and Jessica: It was an Atlanta Pride event at a bar, and we met on the dance floor and danced the night away. We have been together ever since.

THEODORE Mag: What was the first thing you noticed about each other?

Hannah: I noticed Jessica’s light and fun spirit immediately.

Jessica: I noticed Hannah’s sense of humour and generosity.

THEODORE Mag: Tell us about the standout moments in your relationship…

Hannah and Jessica: Some standout moments for us have been our first big trip together to New York City, both proposals, and the days we each graduated from college.

THEODORE Mag: Have you ever faced any issues of non-acceptance?

Hannah and Jessica: Since we live in an accepting city, we haven’t faced much non-acceptance. But during the wedding planning process, many vendors were not able to understand that we were marrying each other. One vendor thought we were having a double wedding and were best friends, even after saying we were marrying each other.

THEODORE Mag: What does marriage mean to you?

Hannah and Jessica: To us, marriage means always being a team and choosing each other forever. It means growing and changing together and showing up during good and bad times.

THEODORE Mag: Who proposed and how?

Hannah: We both proposed, but Jessica proposed first. She surprised me at Piedmont Park, which is where we had our first date.

THEODORE Mag: When did you get married?

Hannah and Jessica: October 25, 2025.

Hannah and Jessica’s story continues below

THEODORE Mag: What was the main influence behind your wedding day?

Hannah and Jessica: The main influence behind our wedding day was based around our venues- an old Italian restaurant and a small chapel in a historic church. We wanted to maintain the ambience that these classic places brought.

THEODORE Mag: What was the most important thing to you surrounding your wedding?

Hannah and Jessica: The most important thing was that we, and our guests, had fun. We wanted it to be elegant and special, but not too stressful.

THEODORE Mag: Did you incorporate any family sentiments or traditions?

Jessica: Hannah wore her grandmother’s ring...

Hannah: ...and Jessica wore pearls that her mom gave her.

Jessica: Hannah and her dad also danced to the same song that her sister and dad danced to at her wedding.

THEODORE Mag: THEODORE Mag:Where did you find the bulk of your inspiration?

Hannah and Jessica: We used Pinterest to find a lot of inspiration, and we had a lot of help from a friend who acted as our wedding planner and Hannah’s sister, who did all of the flowers. They both have amazing artistic eyes and were able to turn our Pinterest ideas into reality.

THEODORE Mag: How did you choose your suppliers?

Hannah and Jessica: We used the Knot for photography. They had prices in our budget and good reviews. We chose Maggiano’s as our venue because Hannah’s family has been going there her whole life, so it had sentimental importance.

THEODORE Mag: What was the most difficult thing about planning your wedding?

Hannah and Jessica: The most difficult part of planning our wedding was probably planning all of the small details and figuring out the timeline. We had multiple locations, so planning the day's timeline was challenging.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
Hannah and Jessica: We did a staycation in Midtown Atlanta! We stayed at the Starling hotel and went to see a play at the Alliance Theatre.

THEODORE Mag: Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?

Hannah and Jessica: Make sure to have fun with it. And when the day arrives, make sure to be present and not worry about the logistics. We would also recommend at least a day of coordinator! It helped us relax and be present on the day of.
