Gianluca and Luca: The Spirit of Puglia
Set across a celebratory weekend in Puglia, Gianluca and Luca’s wedding was a deeply personal tribute to love, community, and home. The celebrations began with a welcome dinner in the main square of Martina Franca, where family traditions and the wider town gathered to celebrate their love. The following day, they were married at a traditional Apulian masseria, Masseria Palesi, set among ancient olive groves and carried by the unmistakable spirit of Puglia.

THEODORE Mag: How and when did you meet?
Gianluca and Luca: We met in 2016, by chance, right in Puglia. We are both from Puglia, but Gianluca lives in Milan and Luca lives between Rome and London. One day in March 2016, we happened to meet by chance back in our home region, Puglia.
THEODORE Mag: Tell us a little about that first time you met…
Gianluca and Luca: The first time we met, we weren’t alone. There was attraction, but we didn’t have the courage to admit it. We are very different, complete opposites. Gianluca is reserved, quiet, and keeps to himself. Luca is explosive, talks to everyone, and is the life of the party. We are together thanks to Gianluca’s brother, who that evening, our first night at that seaside bar, said: “Take these cigarettes, go outside and talk.” From that moment on, we never let go of each other.
THEODORE Mag: What was the first thing you noticed about each other?
Gianluca and Luca: The first thing we noticed about each other was our difference in personality. Exact opposites, but in Italy, we say that “opposites attract.” From the very beginning, though, we knew we would be each other’s lifeline.

THEODORE Mag: Tell us about the standout moments in your relationship…
Gianluca and Luca: Two months after our relationship began, we moved in together in Milan. That’s where our real beginning was. A home of our own, with a terrace overlooking the famous Duomo square, where every evening we hosted parties with so many people. In Milan, we grew together, worked hard, our careers took off, and we always supported each other, even during the most difficult times.
THEODORE Mag: What does marriage mean to you?
Gianluca and Luca: For us, marriage is important for many reasons: to fulfill our dream of love and to send a message of unity to the Italian community and beyond. By law, we are now a family. Legally, we have the same rights as all couples, even though Italy is still not 100% open on the issue of rights; to this day, it remains very complicated for both parents to legally have a child.
THEODORE Mag: Who proposed and how?
Gianluca: Of course, Luca made the proposal, in a grand way, just like he always does. We were at the seaside in Puglia, with all our longtime friends, and he arrived at sunset with a diamond ring and a shirt that said “bambolina,” the nickname he has always used for Gianluca. It was magical.
THEODORE Mag: When did you get married?
Gianluca and Luca: Our wedding lasted an entire weekend, from July 18 to 20, 2025. We began the night before with a welcome event in the main square of the town of Martina Franca. We wanted to celebrate love in the square, in front of everyone, with the whole town involved. It was magical because the entire community took part and celebrated with us. We entered the square with the town’s marching band!
The next day, we celebrated the wedding in a traditional Apulian masseria, Masseria Palesi, among ancient olive trees and the breeze of Puglia.
THEODORE Mag: What was the main influence behind your wedding day?
Gianluca and Luca: We wanted to celebrate in grand style, with our longtime friends and in true Italian fashion. There were 200 of us, all happy and fully involved in our love story.
THEODORE Mag: What was the most important thing to you surrounding your wedding?
Gianluca and Luca: The most important thing about our wedding was bringing together all the people we love, from every part of the world, in our homeland, Puglia. Everyone was amazed by the beauty of our land and the ancient traditions we still carry on.
THEODORE Mag: Did you incorporate any family sentiments or traditions?
Gianluca and Luca: Absolutely! The welcome event was entirely dedicated to family traditions. The lady of the village hand-made orecchiette (a typical Apulian pasta), which we then cooked for everyone. Our pastry chef hand-made sugared almonds, as is done at summer village festivals, and the town band ushered us into the square. We both wore jewellery from our grandmothers and mothers. The wedding day, on the other hand, was a journey through our lives, exploring dance, theatre, and music, all while never leaving fashion behind; a world we've worked in for many years.
THEODORE Mag: Where did you find the bulk of your inspiration?
Gianluca and Luca: Our inspirations came from our own lives. It was a tale of these 10 years spent together; every performance, every detail, every corner said something about us. We officially launched "LORO," our event and installation production agency. After many years working in the fashion events world, we decided to found our own studio. Together in life, and together in work.
THEODORE Mag: How did you choose your suppliers?
Gianluca and Luca: Our suppliers were almost all lifelong friends and colleagues who have supported us throughout these years of events. The artistic director was Marco Lattuchelli, Gianluca's brother. Marco is a choreographer, director, and playwright who works on international productions and was the glue that brought all our suppliers together. The artistic performances were the heart of our wedding.
THEODORE Mag: What was the most difficult thing about planning your wedding?
Gianluca and Luca: The hardest part was probably being the bride and groom, but also organising the entire event. We organised everything in about eight months, with countless hours of work, sleepless nights, and endless travel. It was worth it; everything was exactly how we'd always dreamed, and we'd do it again a thousand times over.
THEODORE Mag: Where did you spend your honeymoon?
Gianluca and Luca: As we said at the beginning, we are exact opposites. That's why we chose two parts of the world that are exactly opposites! We're still thinking about it and will make a final decision very soon.
THEODORE Mag: Any advice for other couples planning their day and finding it difficult to navigate the journey?
Gianluca and Luca: We recommend relying on the right people and, if you decide to get married far from home, choosing local, competent people. Don't stress, because it will be your most beautiful day, and it will fly by. Enjoy every moment.
