Add to your list of INCREDIBLE celebrants Megan Watson of Marry Me Megan. If anyone knows how to conduct a wedding ceremony it is Megan; having had said the phrase ‘I now pronounce you….’ for over 11 years now.
When you get to know Megan, it is no surprise as to why she wins over the hearts of some many couples. Her warm and caring nature, that beaming smile, and her sheer authenticity in genuinely loving you as a couple and the excitement she gets having the honour to marry you.
At Mr Theodore we like to get to know all our recommended vendors on a deeper level, so we’ve delved right into some questions with Megan so that you can see for yourself what she’s just so fantastic.
What inspired you to become a celebrant?
I attended the wedding of a family member that I felt was less than impressive. I leaned over and whispered to my husband and said: “I could do that so much better”. That very night I researched the courses available, and as I was pregnant with my oldest son at the time, I arranged to study Celebrancy as soon as I started maternity leave.
It took me 10 months to do the course, and once I ws registered (it took a further 15 months as there was a cap on celebrants back then), I finally got my first booking - some dear friends of mine, and the rest is history! This was 11 years ago!
What do you love most about a wedding?
Hmmm, this is a hard one because it’s different each time. But a commonality that I love about all weddings is the genuine nerves that accompany a wedding day. Although we all say it’s just one day, the gravity of a marriage commitment is still huge, and I adore how much my couples are genuinely invested in their day. It also follows then, that I love it when my couples tell me after the ceremony just how fun it was and how much they enjoyed it! A wedding should be a celebration, and I strive to give each and every couple their own unique personal celebration, so they start their married life on a high!
Each Celebrant is known for their own unique way to conduct a ceremony, what sets you apart?
My cheeky personality! I am known for my vibrant personality - I am bubbly and fun, but equally, I am known for being very calming and in control.
I aim to be light-hearted, but always with a sense of grace. My couples always tell me that I was very calming for them on the day, and they felt totally at ease knowing I was by their side. My ceremonies are full of heart, laughter and warmth.

Now the big question… how long in advance do couples need to book you?
9-12 months is the perfect lead time for me. I am a full-time celebrant, and I am booked every Friday/Saturday/Sunday through wedding season (Sept – May).
